Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location
- Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: 2 South Surgical/Trauma
- Number of beds: 24
- Patient ratios: 1:5, up to 1:6 maximum
- Unit staffing: 1 unit secretary on days, 2 techs on days and nights
- Equipment used: Hill Rom beds, Pyxis medication system, Welch Allyn devices
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required
- Floating policy: Determined based on house needs
- Dress code: Royal blue scrubs; jackets allowed in black, white, or royal blue
- Patient population: Exclusively post-operative and trauma patients
- Orientation resources: Pathways available for individual surgeons/physicians to aid orientation and familiarity
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in orthopedics and trauma nursing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Skills and Responsibilities
- Post-operative care management within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work in a surgical/trauma unit environment
