Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location

• Augusta, Georgia

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 2 South Surgical/Trauma
• Number of beds: 24
• Patient ratios: 1:5, up to 1:6 maximum
• Unit staffing: 1 unit secretary on days, 2 techs on days and nights
• Equipment used: Hill Rom beds, Pyxis medication system, Welch Allyn devices
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Floating policy: Determined based on house needs
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs; jackets allowed in black, white, or royal blue
• Patient population: Exclusively post-operative and trauma patients
• Orientation resources: Pathways available for individual surgeons/physicians to aid orientation and familiarity

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in orthopedics and trauma nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Skills and Responsibilities

• Post-operative care management within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work in a surgical/trauma unit environment
