Pediatric OR Registered Nurse - Washington, DC
Position Details
- Job Type: Travel/Contract
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of Pediatric nursing experience (or equivalent pediatric-related experience)
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of District of Columbia must be issued prior to start date (pending licenses accepted for submittal only with proof of application date and number)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, required based on unit/specialty, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only, required based on unit/specialty, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP only, required based on unit/specialty, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Chemotherapy certification if applicable to unit/specialty
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Operating Room (OR), with at least some experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Background & Health Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification required (transcript/diploma accepted if verification pending)
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
- Fit test for N95 or PAPR respirators within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 60 days of start or chest x-ray if previously positive; new converters require additional documentation signed by a physician
- Immunizations or positive quantitative titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series and quantitative surface antibody titer)
- Varicella
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (TD and DTap not accepted)
- 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption form required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required for tracking purposes
- Latex questionnaire if latex allergy info is not included on physical exam
Additional Notes
- Start date contingent upon license issuance if offered with pending license
- Photo for badge must be submitted immediately after contract signature; altered or filtered photos and government ID/passport photos are not accepted
- Medication study guide provided prior to start for orientation test preparation
- Facility-specific emergency contact and other compliance modules required
