Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with rotating late shifts
- Schedule: No weekends, no call requirements; staff rotate staying late if cases extend into the evening
- Holiday: Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational)
- Charting System: Epic required
- Locals Allowed: Yes, if living 50-99.9 miles from the facility (one 13-week contract allowed)
- Travelers: First-time travelers accepted
- Residence Requirement: Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s license address
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- Proficient in dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
- Experience with fluoroscopy equipment
- Experience with Siemens equipment
- Experience with Ultrasound equipment
- Experience with Phillips equipment
- Experience with Carto Ensite equipment
- Experience with Cardiolab equipment
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license/state ID showing residence at least 50 miles from the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
- E-Verify or attestation
- 7-year background check (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years) completed within 1 year of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (onsite fit testing available if needed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
- Completion of facility-specific new hire paperwork and orientation manual acknowledgment prior to start
- Two clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Completed employment application/resume
- Annual skills checklist update
Additional Notes
- The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation and certified stroke center status.
- The hospital is nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence with multiple state-of-the-art cath labs and advanced cardiovascular services.
- No weekend or call requirements, but staff rotate late shifts and holiday coverage.
- Emergency state licensure authorization is available for travelers awaiting permanent Virginia licensure.
This position is ideal for EP Lab Technicians with strong cardiac and electrophysiology experience seeking a travel contract with a structured schedule and no weekend or call duties.
