Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Night shift
• Unit bed size: 34
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
• Patient population: Mixed, includes drips and titrations
• Float opportunity to nearby freestanding ED campus
• EMR system: EPIC
• Orientation dates available in early August
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless unit is closed (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment within the previous 18 months
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Certificate)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience with EPIC EMR system

Preferred Qualifications

• Active PALS and TNCC certificates highly preferred (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate is nice to have but can be obtained during onboarding
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

• Orientation is 16 hours

• Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius of the location
• Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from travel assignments in this market

Prior Travel Experience

• Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 18 months
