Description

Travel RN - CVICU

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Beds: 16
  • Staff: 45 (all RNs)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 (both day and night shifts)
  • Equipment used: GE monitors, EV 1000, Hemispheres, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
  • Floating areas: Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, Cardiac PCU
  • Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • CVICU experience with 2 years of experience
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Neuro ICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience specific to CVICU, including CABG recovery, CRRT, and Impella
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
  • BSN degree and CCRN certification

Typical Procedures

  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Management of Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, and chest tubes

Work Environment & Culture

  • Team-oriented, collaborative care environment
  • No on-call duties
  • Required to work 2 weekend shifts every two weeks
