Description

Travel RN - CVICU

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Beds: 16
Staff: 45 (all RNs)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 (both day and night shifts)
Equipment used: GE monitors, EV 1000, Hemispheres, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Floating areas: Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, Cardiac PCU
Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
CVICU experience with 2 years of experience
CVICU experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Neuro ICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience specific to CVICU, including CABG recovery, CRRT, and Impella
Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
BSN degree and CCRN certification

Typical Procedures

Hemodynamic monitoring
Management of Swan Ganz catheters, arterial lines, and chest tubes

Work Environment & Culture

Team-oriented, collaborative care environment
No on-call duties
Required to work 2 weekend shifts every two weeks
