Respiratory Therapy Pulmonary

Job Overview

• Contract role
• 13 weeks
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• 1:1 patient ratio
• May float to nearby hospitals within the service area based on the contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
• Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP
• Experience working with Geriatric patients
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Nitrous oxide procedures
• Proning techniques
• ECMO
• Critical care experience
• Ventilator associated PNA prevention experience
• Spontaneous breathing trials
• ABG draws
• Experience with Epic

Required Experience and Skills

• Experience with trachs, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, critical care, ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws
• Experience with EPIC

Patient Population

• Neonates through geriatric respiratory patients

Scheduling

• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs

Orientation

• 1 day on the unit

Work Environment

• Level 1 trauma center
• Level II NICU
• Teaching hospital
• Magnet designation
• Primary stroke center
• 273 beds

Additional Details

• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Free parking available
• Plenty of PPE, including N95s available
