House Supervisor
Job Overview
- Contract role in Bozeman, Montana
- 13-week assignment
- Full-time equivalent: 0.9
- Variable schedule with no set days
- Nights, with the potential for an occasional day shift
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekends and holidays required
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- House Supervisor experience within the last year
- 5 years of House Supervisor experience
- Acute Care experience
- Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Critical care or emergency department experience
- Trauma Nursing Core Course
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coordination, and integration of healthcare services
- Supervise safety and quality of care
- Serve as incident commander during disaster and mass casualty events
- Manage patient flow throughout the hospital
- Coordinate patient care across hospital and outpatient areas
- Act as liaison among staff, patients and families, providers, law enforcement, and governing bodies as appropriate
- Expedite admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Facilitate emergency surgery communication with operating room and procedural areas
- Initiate and support organ donation protocols
- Round on nursing units and monitor activities
- Ensure adequate staffing and support unit productivity goals
- Respond to escalated concerns from staff, patients, and families
- Activate the medical staff chain of command when indicated
- Support policy adherence, team building, and a positive work environment
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Requires regular and sustained attendance
- May require work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek
- On-call work may be required
- Frequent physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pushing/pulling
- Continuous use of fine motor skills, vision, and cognitive focus
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, medications, radiation, and emotionally challenging situations
Additional Notes
- Candidate must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
- Three shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
