Description

CVICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

  • Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Patient ratio: 1:1–2

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • CVICU (2 years of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax devices, or experience with fresh heart cases
  • Post Op Open Heart Recovery experience
  • Swan catheter experience
  • Flotrack monitoring experience
  • Temporary pacemaker insertion and management experience
  • Arterial line (Aline) placement and management experience
  • Chest tube management experience
  • Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units

Clinical Experience / Skills

  • CVICU experience with fresh open hearts such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
  • Experience with post-op open heart recovery
  • Experience with Swan, FloTrac, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
  • Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or experience with fresh heart cases

Schedule / Assignment Expectations

  • Every other weekend and holiday required, as applicable
  • Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units

Additional Notes

  • May consider SICU experience with initial training in a CVICU
  • No prior travel experience requirement was stated
