CVICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Hours per week: 36
Patient ratio: 1:1–2

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Jersey
CVICU (2 years of experience)
CVICU experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax devices, or experience with fresh heart cases
Post Op Open Heart Recovery experience
Swan catheter experience
Flotrack monitoring experience
Temporary pacemaker insertion and management experience
Arterial line (Aline) placement and management experience
Chest tube management experience
Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units

Clinical Experience / Skills

CVICU experience with fresh open hearts such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
Experience with post-op open heart recovery
Experience with Swan, FloTrac, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or experience with fresh heart cases

Schedule / Assignment Expectations

Every other weekend and holiday required, as applicable
Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units

Additional Notes

May consider SICU experience with initial training in a CVICU
No prior travel experience requirement was stated
