Certified Surgical Technologist
Location
- Bozeman, Montana

Role Summary
- Works in the operating room as a scrub person under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
- Supports safe surgical care by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment for invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Includes an expanded first assistant role when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- CST or NBSTSA
- High school diploma or equivalent, or associate's degree in surgical technology or equivalent training
- Surgical First Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- 10- to 12-hour shifts depending on needs
- May include weekends, after-hours shifts, and on-call work
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble case carts according to preference cards
- Coordinate instruments and supplies with operating room and sterile processing staff
- Review the daily schedule to identify turnover delays and scheduling issues
- Coordinate breaks and lunches as needed
- Support procurement of supplies and instrumentation for scheduled and unscheduled procedures
- Coordinate with materials management on supply utilization and deployment
- In the first assistant role, provide surgical site exposure, handle or cut tissue, provide hemostasis, suture, and assist with postoperative management
Work Conditions
- Regular and sustained attendance required
- Busy, stressful environment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, disinfectants, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations
- Physical demands include repeated lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and fine-finger movements
Additional Notes
- On-time completion of required education is expected per applicable requirements and policy
- No hours are guaranteed in the first assistant role
- The facility may cancel 3 shifts per 13-week contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances
