Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant license in Massachusetts
  • Occupational Therapist Assistant (1 year of experience)
  • Occupational Therapist Assistant experience within the last year
  • Experience in a(n) Long Term Care setting
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide rehabilitative treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Administer interventions such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive or assistive devices
  • Assess patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Document required treatment information and maintain patient records
  • Record treatment minutes accurately
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
  • Assist with obtaining necessary durable medical equipment or supplies
  • Supervise and support students under Occupational Therapist guidance

Practice Expectations

  • Follow NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
  • Active state licensure or registration when applicable
