Description

Respiratory Therapist

Location

  • Greenville, South Carolina

Schedule

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 19:00–07:30
  • Weekend coverage every other weekend, subject to change based on need

Assignment Details

  • Travel/contract role
  • Float between CVICU and PICU
  • Work with both pediatric and adult patients
  • ICU-based ECMO support role
  • Manage ECMO device during bedside ECMO cannulation and/or cannula repositioning
  • Work alongside ICU RN and RT under provider team direction

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Adult patients
  • ECMO specialist experience
  • Experience with Epic

Clinical Focus

  • Post-cardiac surgery
  • Cardiogenic shock
  • Traumatic injury
  • ARDS / respiratory failure
  • Other critical acute illness requiring ECMO support

Equipment

  • Cardiohelp ECMO console
  • Centrimag ECMO console
  • Cardio Quip heater-cooler unit
  • Glucometer for point-of-care testing
