Description

CVICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Specialty: CVICU Registered Nurse
Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:30 PM–8:00 AM
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start date: 8/24/2026

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
CVICU (2 years of experience)
CVICU experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend
Holidays as scheduled
Floating within the specialty, sister units, and lower acuity as needed

Clinical Focus

Cardiac surgery cases including CABG and valve procedures
CAD cases including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
Vascular cases including peripheral bypasses and EVAR
Thoracic cases including VATS

Additional Hiring Requirements

Two supervisory references
Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
Previous 5 years of employment history verification
Government-issued photo ID
I-9 and E-Verify documentation
Background check and state exclusion screening
Physical exam
Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
Drug screen
Flu vaccination or approved exemption for the 2025–26 season
Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
Fit test
Photo for badge
Signed RN job description and confidentiality agreement before start
