Description

PACU Registered Nurse

Location

Wilmington, North Carolina

Contract

13 weeks

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours
  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience

Job Details

  • May recover surgical patients in the ICU setting
  • Float to overflow areas, typically surgical short stay
  • Call is once every four weeks
  • RTO after booking is not allowed
  • Navy scrubs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Charge nurse experience
  • Conscious sedation experience
  • FHM experience
  • ICP experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • Ventilator experience
  • ICU background prior to PACU
  • Pediatric experience

Unit Notes

  • Phase 1 recovery unit that also receives patients from the OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI, and ICU
  • Phase II recovery may also be part of the workflow
  • New hires receive individualized orientation based on experience and skill level
