Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Location: Seattle, Washington
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience circulating in the operating room
• Experience providing newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, thigh assessments, and newborn assessments
• Experience functioning as a baby nurse during delivery and continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience
• Nursery experience

Key Clinical Experience

• Labor and delivery experience in high-risk, high-volume care
• Ability to function as baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Ability to circulate
• Newborn care skills, including eyes, thighs, vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Experience with heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring

Unit Details

• Float requirement to postpartum and antepartum
• May float to sister facilities that provide mother/baby care
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

• Clinical review is required before submission
• EPIC familiarity is required
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
