Role summary
- Provides nursing care for high-acuity ICU patients, including patients who are intubated, sedated, and requiring chest tube management and continuous critical care monitoring.
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- CVICU experience within the last year
- 1 year of CVICU experience
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Key responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol
- Monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
