MRI Tech

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:30–07:00
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Floating may be required
  • No call required
  • Blocked scheduling

Required Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist (2 years of experience)
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ARRT (MR)
  • Experience in a(n) Acute Care setting
  • Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Abdominal MRA
  • Abdominal MRV
  • MR Angio Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff
  • Sternum
  • Temporomandibular joint with/without contrast
  • CINE cerebrospinal fluid flow study
  • Perfusion
  • Peripheral MRA (iliac, runoff)
  • Thoracic MRA

Key Clinical Skills

  • Adult acute care, ICU, outpatient, and ER/trauma experience
  • MRI imaging of abdomen, brain, chest, extremities, pelvis, spine, and soft tissues
  • Contrast media preparation and administration
  • Starting peripheral IVs
  • Isolation precautions and PPE
  • Image post-processing and reconstruction techniques
  • PACS and Siemens equipment familiarity

Schedule and Assignment Notes

  • Travelers must be fully available for orientation, as start dates may change based on class and trainer availability
  • Missing any portion of orientation may delay or cancel the start
  • May be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster response coverage
  • Mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office may occur

Orientation and Work Environment

  • Unit orientation includes hospital orientation in week one and 12 hours of unit orientation
  • Scrubs: royal blue
  • Special equipment: GE, Siemens, PACS
