Description
Registered Nurse — MS/Tele Float
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
- 13-week contract
- Float pool assignment in an ED holding support unit
- Unit cares for adult medical/surgical patients, including some PCU-level patients
- Travelers may also float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ED - Emergency Department experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Must pass EKG testing before start
- Must be able to work every other weekend
Key Clinical Expectations
- Manage MS/Tele and PCU-level patients
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Use telemetry monitoring, including remote monitoring
- Support rapid response situations
- Perform common adult med-surg nursing tasks such as blood product administration, heparin and insulin administration, phlebotomy, PICC line management, feeding tube care, colostomy care, chest tube management, oxygen support, suctioning, and isolation precautions
Scheduling and Assignment Notes
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- RTO limit: 7 days maximum
- Manager schedules
- Target ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele or 1:4 for PCU-level patients
- Navy scrubs required

- Wound care/wound vac
Compliance and Onboarding Notes
- Candidates will be interviewed
- Must complete required onboarding and compliance items before start
- Background, health screening, and state registry checks are required per facility process
