ICU / Step-Down ICU RN

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Overview

Experienced RN needed for ICU and Step-Down ICU care. The role requires strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center and willingness to float to Step-Down ICU.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Neuro ICU experience within the last year
• 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Stepdown experience

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice laws
• Document care according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute patient plans of care based on individual needs and physician or hospital policy
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments as needed
• Use critical thinking to support patient safety and patient experience, and escalate concerns appropriately
