Description

Hospice Nurse

Location

Morgantown, West Virginia

Employment Type

Travel/Contract

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 4x10 hours
  • 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • Standard schedule may vary by location; some assignments may use 5x8s Monday–Friday

Assignment Length

13 weeks

Job Summary

Provides and coordinates home nursing care based on physician orders and agency policies. The role includes supervising and evaluating home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses.

Patient Volume

  • Average of 5–8 patients per day
  • Approximately 30 points per week

Territory and Travel

  • Home visits and periodic office meetings
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic
  • Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in West Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Hospice (1 year of experience)
  • Hospice experience within the last year
  • Experience in a Home Health setting
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Driver's License
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase
  • Experience with OASIS

Clinical Requirements

  • Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase within the last 6 months
  • OASIS proficiency is required for RNs who have used it within the last 6 months; retraining is required if not recent

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are not accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • On-call and weekend requirements vary by location and should be confirmed during interview
  • Scrubs are the dress code
  • No guaranteed hours
