PACU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment type: Travel/Contract

Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:30 AM–8:00 PM
Weekly hours: 36
Schedule notes: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS

Additional Experience Notes

First-time travelers are accepted if they have strong 3–5 years of PACU experience

Unit Details

PACU with 16 rooms/beds
Typical patient ratio: 1:4
Patient population: Pediatrics through geriatrics
Common cases include orthopedic, neurology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, thoracic surgery, urology, and gynecology

Work Expectations

Floating within the specialty is required
Rotating with pre-op is required for this contract
Floating to a sister facility may also be required as needed

Other Notes

Scrub color: Navy blue
On-call is not currently implemented for this unit
