Description

PACU RN Travel Contract

Location

  • Charlotte, North Carolina

Contract Details

  • Travel/contract assignment
  • 14 weeks
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Schedule options: 5x8s or 4x8s
  • No call
  • No weekend requirement
  • Floating may be required to other Charlotte-area ambulatory surgery centers, though rarely
  • Unit closes 11/25/2026

Patient Population

  • Infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Eye and ENT patients

Unit Setting

  • Ambulatory/outpatient
  • PACU
  • Average daily census: 40
  • 9 rooms/beds

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in an Outpatient setting

Preferred Experience

  • Pedi PACU
  • Phase I PACU
  • Phase II recovery
  • ENT, general, and ophthalmology surgery cases
  • Tonsillectomy
  • Emergency medications, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
  • Cataract extraction/implant and eye trauma
  • Management of pediatric patients
  • Airway assessment and placement of oral/nasal airways
  • General, local, and monitored anesthesia care

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • RTO after booking is not allowed
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Unit orientation is 3 days
  • No computerized system is used
