Registered Echo Technologist

Job Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Echo Technologist experience within the last year
  • 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registration or ARDMS credential
  • BLS
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Vascular/Echocardiography, or on-the-job training with an Associate degree in Allied Health

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound and cardiovascular procedures, including stress echos, transesophageal echo, 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, and cardiac Doppler
  • Perform related cardiovascular diagnostic tests as appropriate to licensure
  • Document procedure data and report life-threatening test results promptly
  • Clean and disinfect cardiology equipment and accessories
  • Support supply inventory, clerical tasks, patient transport, telephone inquiries, and other assigned duties
  • Participate in cardiovascular meetings, CQI activities, and evaluations
  • Supervise and instruct students, precept new employees, and support continuous quality improvement
  • Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Perform CPR as needed
