Description

RN - Med Surg

Job Overview

Travel RN position in Birmingham, Alabama
Specialty: Med/surg; neuro acute care
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend
Call: not required
Float: other units in the acute care division, including facilities within a 25-mile radius

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alabama
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Neuro/post-stroke acute care experience
Dysphagia screening experience

Preferred Experience

TR band management

Unit Details

24-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1:6
General medicine patients
General hospital equipment for an acute care unit

Work Environment

Professional, adaptable, hardworking, patient-centered

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs
Fingernails must comply with TJC and CMS guidelines
Shoes must be close-toed with backs
