Description
Registered Nurse — Intermediate Care
Location
- Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour shifts
- Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Setting
- Inpatient acute floor
Required Qualifications
- Active ACLS certification
- Active BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Must be able to read telemetry
- Must be comfortable with chest tubes
Unit Details
- Intermediate care unit with 32 private rooms
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3–4 patients per nurse
- May float first to other units; ICU assignment depends on extensive ICU experience, otherwise general medicine floors
Patient Population / Clinical Experience
- Cares for patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, and patients with BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab needs, and dialysis
Orientation
- 1 day with the education team
- 1 day floor orientation

- Scrubs in any color
