Description
Medical Surgical RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN position in Wilmington, North Carolina
- 13-week contract
- Night shift: 3x12s, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
- Floating required to similar units and alternate inpatient holding or alternate medical patient care locations
- Locals accepted at a local rate
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Med Surg experience
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Active BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Must be willing to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start

- CPI
- Charge nurse experience
- OCN
Unit Details
- Med Surg Oncology clinic caring for patients who have received chemotherapy
- Primary patient population includes general medical-surgical diagnoses and chemotherapy/biotherapy administration
- Target ratio: 1:6
- Daily census: 42
- Monthly staff meetings required
- Onsite training provided
- Orientation: 24 hours over 2 shifts

Schedule Notes
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation and DNR
- Contract staff may be assigned to storm/hurricane response or disaster coverage
