Description
Registered Nurse (RN) — Med Surg
Location
- Des Moines, Iowa
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Nights
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Med Surg experience
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Driver's License
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- Level II trauma experience
- Patient care experience in abdominal, flaps, and ENT surgical areas
- Heparin drip titration experience
- Experience with Epic
Assignment Details
- Must float across all campuses
- Required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed
- Orientation date: 9/28
- No local candidates; must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
Clinical Setting
- General medical-surgical unit
- Patient ratio: 1:4–6 on days, 1:5–6 on nights
- Bed size: 24–26
- Patient types include general, gynecologic, breast, abdominal, flap, and ENT cases
Additional Notes
- EPIC is used for electronic medical records
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Driver’s license required for submission
