Description

PCU/Oncology Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Dayton, Ohio
  • Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Oncology experience
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sickle cell experience
  • Chemo certification
  • Level 1 or 2 experience
  • Travel experience

Unit / Role Details

  • Must float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units
  • Target patient ratio is 1:4, with assignments up to 1:5–6
  • Mixed-acuity oncology and hematology unit
  • May care for patients receiving blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCA therapy, and wound care
  • ONS certification allows RNs on the unit to administer chemotherapy

Scheduling / Assignment Expectations

  • No block schedule
  • Must be available every other weekend and holiday
  • First-to-float assignment policy applies
  • May float to other campuses within the health system’s local area
  • Low-census cancellation policy applies during the contract

Other Notes

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • N95 fitting is required before working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is used or needed
  • RTO must be requested with initial submission; no RTO added after offer
