RN - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Unit Overview

Postpartum / Mom-Baby unit
32 operational beds
Night shift: 7P–7A
No on-call requirement
Floating may include antepartum overflow and L&D recoveries

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Post Partum (1 year of experience)
Post Partum experience within the last year
BLS
NRP

Preferred Qualifications

Mother-baby charge experience
Late-preterm or transitional newborn experience

Common Unit Responsibilities

Newborn screenings
Blood glucose monitoring
Jaundice monitoring
Perineal and incision care
Feeding support

Work Environment

Patient ratio: 1:3 couplets, depending on mix
Team-based unit with bedside shift report and hourly rounding
Works closely with OB, pediatricians, and lactation support
