Description
Travel RN - Med Surg
Location
- Plano, Texas
Assignment Details
- Travel position
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Unit: Ortho Trauma Specialty Med-Surg
- 36-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 1:5, with flex up to 6
- Floating: All Med-Surg units
- Weekend commitment: 4 weekends
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ortho Trauma experience
Preferred Experience
- Ortho and/or trauma patient experience
Unit Notes
- Common patient types include polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine, ortho/trauma with downgraded TBI, burn downgrades, and patients with up to 3 drains
- Heparin and Protonix drips are used
- Team-oriented candidate preferred
Schedule / Workflow
- Day shift: 1 charge, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs
- Night shift: 1 charge, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs
- Huddle times: 0645 and 1845
- Tardy cutoff: 0653 and 1853
Additional Notes
- Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
