Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Weekly hours: 36 or 48
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• 2 or more completed travel assignments
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• IV Start capability
• Management of dysrhythmias

Key Skills

• IV start
• Telemetry
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Med/Surg neuro experience

Schedule and Unit Expectations

• Travelers must work every other weekend
• Floating is required to other MS/Tele areas and may include COVID care units
• Preferred scheduling
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Call-offs or additional requested time off may lead to cancellation and do-not-return status

Patient Population

• Primarily stroke patients
• Also cares for neurosurgery and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and subdural hematomas

Unit Details

• Ratio: 1:6
• 42 daily census
• 43 rooms/beds
• 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Orientation and Work Environment

• Unit orientation: 36 hours
• Scrubs: Navy

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• ACLS is preferred, not required
