Description

Medical Surgical Nurse

Location

Battle Creek, Michigan

Assignment Details

Travel/contract role
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
36 hours per week
Up to 26 weeks
Holiday coverage is required
Every other weekend required
First to float
Floating required to other Med Surg units
Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved
3x12 or 4x12 schedules may be available

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

Travel experience is highly preferred

Unit Information

Observation unit is a 10-bed ER overflow area
Typical patient ratios:
- Nights: 1:6 in Observation, 1:5 to 6 on other Med Surg units
- Days: 1:5 in Observation
Ratios may flex to 8 patients, with RN paired with LPN for support
The unit sees a mix of medical patients and requires working with a variety of staff roles, including RNs, LPNs, and techs
