Description

RN - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location

  • Overland Park, Kansas

Job Type

  • Travel
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13 weeks

Unit Details

  • Postpartum unit
  • 26 beds
  • Typical patient ratio: 6–8 patients
  • Floating is within women’s services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
  • On-call: none
  • Procedures performed: circumcisions

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kansas
  • Post Partum experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Post Partum experience
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

  • BSN preferred

Scheduling

  • Typically 2 hard-to-staff shifts per week on Monday/Friday
  • One full weekend every 3rd week, plus one additional weekend

Experience / Skills

  • Post-partum, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby experience
  • Ability to assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
  • Ability to provide discharge education, abnormal assessment, pain management, time management, and prioritization of patient care needs
  • Uses AIDET and BSSR
