Description

Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
36 or 48 hours may be offered
Contract length: 13 weeks
Floating is required
Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts
RTO after booking is not allowed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Telemetry experience with 2 years of experience
Telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Stepdown experience
Skills required: IV start, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation, dysrhythmia management
EKG testing is required before start

Preferred Qualifications

Step-down experience

Unit Details

Cardiac telemetry / stepdown / IMC unit
Typical patient population includes cardiac arrhythmias, MI, ACS, uncontrolled diabetes, DKA, heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, post-PPM, post-ICD, and patients on cardiac drips
No blood pressure titration
Ratio: 1:6
Average daily census: 23
No charge nurse on the unit

Work Environment

Teamwork is emphasized
Navy or white scrubs

Orientation

3-day orientation
First day is EPIC training, followed by 2 days on the unit
