Description
Registered Nurse (Emergency Department) - Travel Position
Location: Longview, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Mids (1 PM - 1 AM), 3 days per week
Employment Type: Full-time Travel
Job Summary
- Provide independent nursing care in an emergency department setting, managing routine and complex patient needs.
- Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health needs and resources.
- Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Department nursing within the last year.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
Position Requirements
- Attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire (for newly hired experienced RNs).
- Participate in preceptorship with a trained staff member; complete organizational and Emergency Department-specific competency validations.
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specific orientation program with documented skills and competency completion.
- Complete all annual competency verification requirements.
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1 PM to 1 AM).
