Description

Behavioral Health RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Big Spring, Texas
  • Adult inpatient behavioral health unit
  • Night shift: 3x12 or 4x12, 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend
  • May float to ER or Med Surg as needed
  • Start date needed within 3–5 weeks
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Ratio: 1:8

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Psychiatric experience within the last year
  • 2 years of psychiatric experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP, as applicable
  • CHEMO, as applicable
  • TNCC, as applicable
  • EFM, as applicable
  • ENPC, as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification, as applicable

Notes

  • Legal name must match across license documentation, driver’s license, Social Security card, and certifications
  • ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain PALS for longer-term assignments
  • ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain TNCC for longer-term assignments
  • NIH Stroke Certification is required for ICU and PCU
  • TNCC is required for ER
  • AWHONN-related additional education may be needed if over 2 years old
  • On-site NRP options may be available if needed
