Physical Therapist
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Rush, New York
- 13-week assignment
- 20 hours per week
- Day shift: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, 3x8 hours
Setting
- Secure juvenile correctional setting serving approximately 44 male youth
Responsibilities
- Review health histories and evaluate physical and neurological conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy for post-surgical recovery, fractures, amputations, paralysis, nerve injuries, and other disabilities
- Administer therapeutic exercises, mobilization, massage, and other treatment modalities
- Monitor progress and document care
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New York
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Competency exam required for all candidates
- Background check
- Fingerprinting
- 2 references
Compliance / Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months before start
- TB questionnaire annually
- Drug test within 1 year of start
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation or titers
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
- COVID-19 booster preferred, not required
Work Conditions / Other Details
- Free on-site parking
- Business casual or scrubs required
- No current vaccine requirement
- Supervision staff will be present during clinical care
