Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

  • Location: Greenville, South Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, may change as needed
  • Patient population: Adults and geriatrics

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Adult Critical Care work settings experience
  • Experience administering medications including albuterol, Atrovent, combivent, flovent, inhaled steroids, ispurel, lidocaine, perforomist, pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and xopenex
  • Experience delivering medication through aerosol setup mask, aerosol setup trach, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler
  • Experience with hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
  • Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
  • Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms
  • Experience weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with Epic

Work Expectations

  • First-time travelers: Accepted
  • Local candidates: Accepted within radius rule
  • Floating: Required to float to other units or campuses as needed, within documented competencies
  • Scheduling requests: All requests must be included with submission and are subject to facility approval at booking
  • Call-off policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Additional Notes

  • Charting: EPIC experience required
  • Background check: Required
  • Pre-start requirements: Badge photo, driver’s license or state ID, and completion of facility onboarding documents and modules are required
