Role Summary
- Surgical technologist role supporting operative procedures under direct supervision of a surgeon.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe operating room environment, handling instruments and supplies, assisting with sterile technique, and preparing the room and instruments for the next patient.
- May help train new employees and students in the scrub tech role.
- Not permitted to function as a circulating nurse, first assistant, administer medications, or complete patient records.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with 3 years of experience
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
- NBSTSA certification
- Trade or technical school certificate or diploma
Experience
- At least 1 year of previous experience preferred
Clinical Skills
- Proficiency in total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine procedures
Additional Notes
- Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility receive a lower rate
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
- The assignment may be canceled up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
