Description
Registered Nurse (RN) — Med Surg
Overview
- Location: Des Moines, Iowa
- Employment type: Temp
- Shift: Nights
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Local radius rule: Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Med Surg experience
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Driver's License
- Patient care experience in general, gyn, and breast areas
- Patient care experience in abdominal, flaps, and ENT areas
- Heparin drip/titration experience
- Experience with Epic
Schedule / Assignment Expectations
- Must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed
- Must float across all campuses
Unit Details
- Bed size: 24–26
- Typical ratios: 1:4–6 on days; 1:5–6 on nights
- Patient types include general, gynecologic, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT
- Drips/titrations include heparin
- Scrub color: navy blue, solid tops and bottoms
Additional Notes
- Not a first-time traveler
- EPIC experience is required
