Role Overview
Certified Surgical Technologist role in a cardiovascular operating room setting supporting open-heart and vascular surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience
- BLS
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) Certification
- CVOR/Open Heart Surgery scrub experience
- Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience
Schedule
- Regular schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Shift hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Some Thursday call coverage required
- Monthly call rotation of approximately 10-12 call days
- Weekend call is rotated among team members
Procedures / Clinical Focus
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Valve repair and replacement
- TAVR procedures
- Aortic aneurysm repairs
- Vascular surgical procedures
- Open heart surgery
Work Environment
- Operating room department
- 1:1 patient care in the operating room
- Cardiovascular surgical instrumentation
- Heart-lung bypass equipment
- Endoscopic vein harvesting equipment
- Cell saver
- Surgical microscopes and specialty cardiovascular equipment
Additional Notes
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Must maintain competencies for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Must participate in scheduled call rotation
