Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Brockton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 40
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Massachusetts
  • Speech Language Pathologist (3 years of experience)
  • Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Master's degree

Preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility

Role Highlights

  • Provides speech-language pathology services to support residents’ function and independence
  • Evaluates and treats communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow
  • Develops and adjusts therapeutic plans of care
  • Documents evaluations, treatments, and resident/caregiver education
  • Collaborates with physicians, caregivers, and the care team
  • Supports coverage coordination, in-services, and program development

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; lifting above 50 pounds requires a 2-person lift
  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds
