Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
- Day shift: 4x10s, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Up to 26 weeks available by request
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Virginia
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ARRT (R) or CCI
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
- Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
- Experience with Epic
- Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called
- Does not accept first-time travelers
- Does not accept locals
Clinical Experience and Skills
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures, including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
- Sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, rapid response protocols
- Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
Scheduling and Call
- 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts are required every 6 weeks
- One full weekend of call must be scheduled together each cycle
- One Saturday shift for elective cases is required each 6-week period
- Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Unit Details
- Adult patient population
- 6 procedure rooms
- Daily census of 15–20
- Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
- Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
Charting
- Epic required
Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM required within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest earned degree required
- Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start
- Photo for badge required
- Access and confidentiality agreement required within 48 hours of signing
- New hire paperwork required before start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- 2 clinical references required

- Skills checklist required and updated annually
