RRT ECMO Specialist
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:30–07:00
- May occasionally cover day shifts as needed
- Every other weekend required
- Floating as needed within scope
- Contract length: 20 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Minnesota
- Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
- 1 year ECMO Specialist experience
- Endotracheal tube suctioning experience
- Extubation experience
- Intubation assist experience
- Nasal airway placement experience
- Nasal airway suctioning experience
- Oral airway placement experience
- Oropharyngeal suctioning experience
- Sputum specimen collection experience
Experience and Clinical Skills
- Adult critical care experience
- Experience with airway management, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, nebulizer therapy, and medication administration for respiratory care
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- ABG interpretation and arterial blood gas collection
- Chest physiotherapy experience
Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- Pending license accepted if active by start
- Criminal background check required
- Federal exclusion checks required
- DHS clearance required
- Pre-orientation modules must be completed before start
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Tdap required
- TB documentation required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
- Respiratory safety clearance required
- Drug screen required
- References required
- Skills checklist required annually
Work Environment
- Short-term acute care facility
- Magnet, teaching, Level III trauma center
- 672 staffed beds
Additional Notes
- On-call not required
- Block scheduling requests may be discussed with the manager
- RTO ideally no more than 5 days
- Scrubs: ceil blue provided or olive green if brought by the clinician
- Parking is available at a flat hourly rate
