Travel/Contract Registered Nurse Job Summary
Role Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: Danbury, North Carolina
- Setting: Long-term care / geriatrics
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Float: None
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Long Term Care (2 years of experience)
- Long Term Care experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Traveler experience (unit will accept 1st time traveler as long as they have skilled experience)
- Long Term Acute Care experience
- Experience with Point-Click Care
Preferred Qualifications
- Community hospital experience
- Previous charge experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Trauma level I experience
- Trauma level II experience
Unit Details
- Average daily census: 36
- Bed count: 40
- Staffing: 2 CNAs; after 11:00 PM, one nurse on the unit
- On-call MD available after hours
Clinical Skills Highlighted
- Geriatric nursing care
- Blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose, and neurological assessments
- Medication administration, IV therapy, venipuncture
- Wound care and pressure ulcer prevention
- Foley catheter care, feeding tube care, ostomy care
- Respiratory support including oxygen, BiPAP/CPAP, and nebulizer treatments
- Infection control, isolation precautions, fall prevention, and seizure precautions
Scheduling / Orientation
- Hospital orientation occurs during the first week
- Traveler must be available for classes each day during orientation
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs

- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Additional RTO or call-offs on unit may result in cancellation and DNR
