Description
Registered Nurse
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract
- 15 weeks
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Completed advanced AWHONN electronic fetal monitoring class
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience preferred
- Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients
- Ability to titrate drips
- Ability to care for magnesium and insulin drips
- Ability to circulate cesarean sections in the OR and recover patients in PACU
- Ability to provide baby care for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Unit Details
- Labor and delivery unit with 9 LDR beds, 6 triage rooms, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 1 PACU, and an 18-bed antepartum unit
- Postpartum unit has 36 private rooms
- Uses electronic fetal monitoring with Phillips monitors
- Epic Stork is used for fetal monitoring documentation
Schedule and Staffing
- Block scheduling is allowed when possible
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No call requirement
- Charge nurse is present 24/7 and does not take patients
- House supervisor is present 24/7
Floating
- Floats to postpartum and antepartum only
Orientation
- 3 shifts of orientation
Additional Notes
- Surgical scrubs are provided on unit
- Negative drug screen required
- Local rate applies within 50 miles of the facility
- Call-off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty
