Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Operating Room (OR)
- Hospital Size: 408 beds
- OR Rooms: 14 total (1 Hybrid Cardiovascular OR, 1 Cystoscopy OR, 12 multipurpose ORs)
- Staffing:
- 60 full-time employees including OR RNs, CSTs, PCTs, Anesthesia Techs, Service Line Lead RN, Tech Service Line Coordinator, Clinical Charge RNs, Director, VP
- Day Shift: 14-16 RNs, 14-16 CSTs, 2 Clinical Charge RNs
- Night Shift: 1 Clinical Charge RN, 1 OR RN, 1 CST, with call teams for Neuro, CVOR, and General Surgery
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Equipment: Standard OR equipment, Stryker video systems
- EMR System: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Angioplasty
- Appendectomy
- Biopsy
- Orthopedic and spine surgeries
- Note: No transplant procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Acute Care experience
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with circulating and scrubbing in the OR
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
Work Schedule & On-Call
- Typical shift: 36 hours per week
- On-call required 1 day per week from 5 PM to 7 PM
- Weekend on-call approximately once every 6 weeks when the orthopedic surgeon is on call
