Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location

Salida, Colorado

Employment Type

Schedule

  • Nights
  • 36 hours per week
  • 6:00 pm to 6:30 am
  • Rotating schedule every other week
  • Includes some call, weekends, and holidays

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2 years of experience
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NRP

Responsibilities

  • Perform and collect diagnostic information, including pulmonary function testing, Pad Net, sleep studies, noninvasive and invasive diagnostic procedures, and blood gas and other pertinent laboratory analysis
  • Assess patients using physical examination and diagnostic data interpretations
  • Provide respiratory care therapeutics, including medical gas therapy, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, artificial airway insertion, management, and care, airway clearance, and invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Assess patient reactions and results of therapeutic interventions
  • Participate in discharge planning and case management
  • Participate in public education activities focused on cardiopulmonary wellness
  • Attend mandatory safety in-services, department meetings, and manager-selected in-services
