Description

Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool - RN

Overview

  • Role: Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool - RN
  • Location: Fargo, North Dakota
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day/Night Rotate
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active ND RN license or Compact state RN license
  • BLS certification must be AHA
  • NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience
  • EPIC experience
  • Experience working in a level 2 or higher trauma center
  • Experience working in a very fast-paced hospital with 250+ beds
  • Will not take first-time travelers; first-time travelers may be considered only if their primary experience is Resource Pool/FP
  • Cannot live within 60 miles of the facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Float Pool experience
  • Previous float pool experience is preferred

Schedule

  • Every other weekend and holiday
  • OT billed after 48 hours
  • Will call in daily to find out the unit they are working on for that shift

Float Scope

  • May float within the MedSurg Cluster and between campuses in Fargo
  • May float to all med-surg units on Broadway, SMCF, and South University campuses
  • Float scope includes med-surg overflow spaces and med-surg status patients within critical care units
  • Med-surg specialty units include oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations

Unit Details

  • Unit bed range: 24-47 depending on the unit
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 from 7a-11p; 1:5-6 from 11p-7a

Duties

  • Head-to-toe assessments
  • Medication administration by a variety of routes
  • Care plan formulation and documentation
  • Wound, line, and drain care

Orientation

  • One full shift on a Broadway med-surg unit
  • One full shift on a SMCF med-surg unit
  • Team expectations and campus tours during week one

Additional Notes

  • Must note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health; if previously worked there, the end date must be 6 months prior to submission
  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue
