Assignment Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Brooklyn, New York
  • 59-day assignment
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:30 to 20:30
  • 36 hours per week
  • Traveler only

Unit / Department

  • Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care

Clinical Duties

  • Administer and monitor oxygen therapy
  • Administer aerosolized drug therapy, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, CPAP therapy, and BiPAP therapy
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and monitor ventilators
  • Manage ventilator-dependent patients during internal transportation
  • Perform bedside spirometry, respiratory mechanics, pulse oximetry, capnography measurements, and arterial blood gas sampling/analysis
  • Wean and extubate ventilator-dependent patients
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Complete patient assessment and respiratory therapy documentation
  • Maintain departmental records, equipment, and quality assurance processes
  • Perform equipment disinfection and other assigned duties
