Description

Ortho RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract RN role in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
  • 20+ week contract.
  • 12-hour nights; 36 or 48 hours per week may be offered.
  • Unit is willing to offer block scheduling.

Unit Details

  • Orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patient population.
  • Fast-paced unit with 39 rooms and 39 beds.
  • Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 5-6:1, with possible flex to 7:1 in extreme cases.
  • Travelers may be required to float to any other med surg unit within the facility based on staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Orthopedics experience within the last year.
  • 2 years of orthopedics experience.
  • IV Start.
  • Telemetry.
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • NIH.
  • First-time travelers are accepted if they have EPIC experience.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • No call requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS.
  • Charge nurse experience.
  • Level I Trauma experience.

Scheduling / Attendance

  • RTO after booking is not allowed.
  • Up to 7 days of RTO is allowed for auto-offer.
  • Holiday RTO cannot be approved.
  • If the RN calls out on a weekend, that time must be made up on a weekend.

Notes

  • Covid patients are cared for on all units unless they are in ICU.
